About Sophie

With non-horsey parents, Sophie spent her early days volunteering at the riding school as much as possible before finally sharing a horse, then buying her first horse at the age of 12. Though as we all know, animals don’t come without their ups and downs and with the trials and tribulations that horses bring, Sophie learnt a lot about rehabilitation of different injuries and conditions. Over time, Sophies interests grew in this area and a yearning to be able to help others in similar situations grew. With this in mind, Sophie tailored her qualification route towards obtaining her MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy to allow her to also branch into canine therapies, throughout which time, she continued to compete in show jumping up to 1.20m, produce young horses as well as work gundogs.
Sophie works with Equine athletes competing for GB and agility dogs through to equines and canines undergoing rehabilitation. Sophies FEI permit allows her to work at FEI shows as well as at your yard. A keen Showjumper, working dog enthusiast, researcher & HE lecturer, Sophie has a passion for delivering gold standard care throughout the consultation and post treatment process, treating all animals as though they were her own. Sophies active career as a lecturer means she engages with research in equine & small animal therapies on a daily basis, ensuring she is able to bring the cutting edge of research, combined with first class practice, to the benefit of your animals.
